Fundraiser Night

Summer 2016 Newsletter

We are almost 1 year old!

Here are some highlights of our accomplishments so far.

View Our 3 Year Strategic Plan

Last November we hosted a community strategic planning session with community stakeholders from the 6 parishes we serve. The input we obtained at this meeting guided the development of our 3 year strategic plan. A draft of the plan can be found on our website under the “About Us” page for your review.

Decentralized Arts Fund (DAF) Program Underway

The Bayou Regional Arts Council is administering the DAF program for our region for the first time this year. The application period just came to a close and we have received 22 grant applications from organizations within the 6 parishes we serve. These organizations are seeking funding to support their operations, if they are an arts organization, or to provide quality arts programming to their community. Volunteer grant panels will meet in August to score the applications and make funding recommendations.

Our First Fundraiser Was A Success!

Duckin’ Out For The Arts on April 9th of this year was a lot of fun. We exceeded our fundraising goal and we established a relationship with some of the local artists in our community by soliciting their talents on the beautiful duck decoys that were auctioned off at the event. We greatly appreciate the support of all the artists involved and of all those who purchased tickets and joined us for the event. Special thanks to Cannata’s Family Market as presenting sponsor, People’s Drug Store, Inc., Diane Lampitt Consulting, Christiano’s Ristorante, The Boxer and The Barrel, Roger Bourgeois, and Damon Baldone.
